This afternoon, she got a HUGE splinter in her hand. She showed me outside, and I tried to pull it out, but of course, broke it so the under skin part was still, well, under the skin. I hustled her inside so I could take it out. She whimpered a little bit as we were going in, but when we got inside and I started digging into her skin to get the splinter, she was this brave little trooper. Not a whimper or tear. I was amazed.

Tonight is our first night of big girl bed. She looked so LITTLE in this huge bed, and she was SO serious about it. She snuggled in with her new pillow, and new sheets and blanket, and gave me the gravest look as I hugged her goodnight.

Where did my little girl go?

When I asked Wiley tonight, all nostalgic "God, when did she get so big?", do you KNOW what he said to me?

"Last night. You weren't looking."

See, those are the moments that make parenthood worthwhile.
It's good to remember those moments when we feel like we want a return policy with our kids!

It's amazing. It feels like I was just pregnant, now she's almost two. What a blur.
