Do you know who this is? I'll give you a hint - I remembered your birthday this year for the first time in, what, 14 years, and we STILL haven't been able to find time to get together... I had a journal on another board, but all my friends defected over here, and since you're here too I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon as well. I have a journal, but I haven't started writing in it yet (I'm still navigating this system).
I'm so happy for you about the house (although it just confirms my fear that I'll never be able to afford a house in this area. Sigh...) Come over and visit once I get my journal up and running. Elaine
And yeah, the house thing is great. As much as I regret not buying SIX years ago right after we got married, I'm glad we bought when we did. I think we'd be priced out of the market at this point, which is ridiculous, considered. I have to guess that Marblehead will be even worse, althought you two are far better than Wiley or I at living in little tiny spaces.
Hahaha. LiveJournal. Helping people waste time since 2000 =)
Adding friends is easy. The easiest way to do it is to go to the info page for the person you want to add, and click on the little icon that looks like a person with a plus sign.
Basically, insurance that protects the lending companies / banks against losses incurred should you default on the mortgage. Generally required if you are taking a mortgage with less than 20% down, can be removed either when you pay off down the loan to 80% of the original loan amount, or when the appraisal value of the home puts you to having having over 20% equity.
It's so amazing to think that if we'd waited any longer than we did that we would have been truly priced out of the market (and we live 30-45 minutes outside the city) instead of just having the stretch to make it.
On a completely unrelated note, it looks like I may be in Cleveland for three days during the first week of August. Will you be around? And if you are, would you be interested in getting together?
