Jun. 13th, 2005 03:05 pmTrip stories and reports are still being compiled.
In the meantime, life goes on.
For those of you who might not realize it,
biophile6 is a lovely and wonderful houseguest. Aside from being wonderful company and nice to have around, the man planted my entire garden for me while I was away. Seriously. How much does that rock?
Yesterday was Widget's school "concert". In quotes because, well, it was 6 groups of three and four year olds getting up on stage and trying to sing songs in unison. Dropped Widget off where the kids were gathered and found seats. Watched as the kids filed in, noticed that Widget was not to be seen. See the office manager for the school headed my way, and she tells me that I'm needed. Go up to the front to find Widget in tears, panicking about the concert. Hugged her, calmed her down, and then ended up sitting on the floor with her for the whole thing, holding her hand. Once she got up on stage she was fine, singing her little heart out. Watching the teachers trying to herd these large groups of preschoolers around was comical, as was watching how about half the kids actually sang, while the others looked around, played with their hands, lifted up their dresses (Widget did that one, the charmer). If it hadn't been stiflingly hot in the auditorium, it would have been a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon.
elsterm, have you come across Amy Loves Books in your internet wanderings? I think you would like it.

Date: 2005-06-13 07:23 pm (UTC)She was sitting in a chair, and seemed to decide that her belly button needed some attention. Up went the dress while she checked things out.
Aaaah, the complete lack of self-consciousness.

Date: 2005-06-13 08:38 pm (UTC)The concert sounds like fun, it's too bad they can't do them all in the spring and fall though when it's not so hot.
Can't wait to hear about the trip.

a) jump out of your skin
b) die
c) shriek
d) order more food
