As predicted, Widget was outside my door at 6:44:59, vibrating with excitement.

So we beached. And then grocery shopped, and then went to see Kit Kittridge, and THEN went to spend an hour plus in a friend's pool (thanks again!)

We sucessfully avoided the heat all day, managed our timing so that the screaming thunderstorm happened while we were driving between movie and pool (thus, happily not preventing pool time) and had a great day together.

And now I am so tired, that as soon as I get the towels and swimsuits in the dryer, I'm going to go lay like broccoli in front of the tv for a while.

Never heard that idiom before. I would say "lie there like a lox."

It's a pretty New York-ish idiom.

I've never seen Pretty Woman, so I didn't know it was a reference.

I'm catching up. This sounds like a wonderful day, and I immediately caught the Pretty Woman reference.
