Wow

I was just looking at this old picture of myself, that Wiley has on his website. It's my class picture from third grade; my mom thought it was funny to give him a copy years ago when we were dating. I was thinking I'd turn it into a LJ user pic. And looking at it, suddenly, I was completely struck by how much Widget looks like me. Usually I can't really see it, except in a fleeting way, when she makes a certain expression, or something like that. But damn.

Which is not to say there's not a lot of Wiley there too. Certainly her hair is thanks to him, and her nice skin color (and her ears, heehee), and other features too. But wow.

People tell me all the time how much Isabella looks like me. I never really saw it before -- she just looks like Isabella to me. But then I saw a picture of myself at about 2 years old -- and it was uncanny. It was a picture of my grandmother holding me, and it was as if Nana was holding *Isabella*.

I've never considered myself to look at all like my mother, but when I turned about 17, my Granny started insisting that I do. And if you get out photos from her at Uni, I do actually. Funny that, innit?
