One of the nicest things...

about being a Red Sox fan is being able to root against the Yankees. It's even sweeter when WE WIN!

I mean, growing up as a Mets fan, we always pretty much hated the Yankees, but since this was before the days of inter-league play, we never actually got to root against them, ya know? Now I get to, to my little heart's content.

God I love baseball!

In Baltimore we also have this phenomenon -- We LOVE to hate the Yankees. I don't care how good their team is doing...YANKEES SUCK! If you go to a Orioles vs. Yankees game at Camden Yards, there are always a ton of Yankee fans there. Those SOBs drive down from NYC! And they are SOOOOOOO obnoxious. They are always drunk before the game even starts! Nothing worse than a loud, unruley, drunk Yankee fan.

Unfortunately the Orioles are still playing kinda sucky. We're still recovering from Ripken's retirement. But we still love our O's in Baltimore!

Sometimes I suspect that my dislike of baseball is because I grew up in the KC area, with the fucking Royals. Maybe if I'd had a cool tem like the Sox or the Mets to cheer for, I'd be more interested.
