Things that were good about today:

Tuna Mac salad for dinner, even made early so no cooking work when I came home.
Getting a couple important work tasks done in a very timely manner
Wiley bringing me vanilla coke and cookies to go with the aforementioned Tuna-Mac salad
Still coming down off the rush from the concert last night.
Finally getting appointment for IUD insertion. I've only been waiting a year!

Things that sucked about today:
Cramps
Ripping my current favorite skirt (maybe salvageable, don't know yet)
Stupid programming things that I can't get to work right
Being tired from the concert last night
Finding out co-worker's father died over the weekend
House full of housework, and no time to do it.
Finding salmon steaks bought Friday in a questionable condition - can't be served to guests tomorrow. And that they had left scummy salmon juice all over crisper drawer. Yuck! (Yeah, they should have gone in the freezer right away, but you try remembering everything while juggling a baby.

I think today officially tips into the "ugh" category.

I think it was the salmon slime that did it. Slimon. Salmonime. Slimonimor. John Jacob slimonimor schmidt, as a matter of fact. All that other stuff is average, but fish juice? You just dont see that everyday.

The copper t3 .. which to me sounded like something to do with high-performance networking. No hormones here, lasts ten years.

Hey, can I play Quake over your IUD? That's some serious bandwidth you're pushing there....

Heh. Well, worse I suppose is a relative term. They're definitely HEAVIER (especially the first few after the insertion, to the point where I was somewhat alarmed. TMI. Sorry...), but for me the benefits far outweigh that drawback. Not having to worry about birth control .. and for TEN YEARS .. wow. It's the next best thing to sterilization, in my opinion. I'm 99.999 percent certain I don't want any more children, but I'm not ready to remove that option from my future.

The IUD has also done wonders for my sex life. No worries.. no interruptions... Quickies.. Nooners.. :D

One more thing -- make SURE to take at *least* three Advil an hour before your appointment. And keep yourself dosed up every six hours for the first day or two. The insertion process wasn't as easy for me as it should have been .. only now do I know I have a "trick cervix" -- those are the gynecologist's words! It's only supposed to take five minutes but I was there for about 30 while she, well, jammed things into my cervix. Not very nice but certainly not as bad as childbirth!! Again, my case was unusual so I don't think you'll have any problems.

Wow, this turned into a novel. Good luck!

What does that mean?

Oh oh oh. Dosed up on Advil! To keep the evil evil stop-messing-with-my-cervix cramps away.
