Another random finding

This weekend, I discovered that the holes in my ears (holes two and three, for those of you keeping track) that I thought were closed up aren't. I was very much pleased to find this, as I was never very happy that I'd let them get closed up in the first place. I'm puzzled, since I don't think I've ever known anyone's holes to spontaneously re-open, and I really tried to get these back open when I first discovered that they seemed to be closed.

Either way, I'm psyched!

How long have you not used them? I have a hole in my upper left ear I haven't "used" in years and years... too scared to try! One of my stepdaughters wants a piercing there while she's here and I thought I'd get one too. but maybe I don't need to?

The last time I tried to use them was before we moved in here, so, at least 15 months (and they'd gone 6 months with no earrings which is why I thought they were dead. Your's might be salvagable... If you go somewhere that's a "real" piercing place rather than a jewelry store at the mall, they might be able to tell you.

Hmmm Okay, I'm talking about, like, five years sine I last even tried to put any earrings there. I intend to take my stepdaughter to the place I got my tattoo recently (they do piercings too) but their website says under-18s not allowed. I have to call and find out do they mean under 18 never ever ever allowed or just not without parental permission? We shall see...

Sometimes it's not really closed, but dead skin or whatever gets stuck there, and then you can either push through it or push it out of the way. :)

Yeah, see, I didn't want to say this, 'cause it was yucky, but the three that are really clear now were all giving off weird white stuff (noticed when giving my first holes their bi weekly good cleaning). So I poked at them, and lo and behold, there they were.

Erm, really good cleaning?
I don't think I've ever cleaned out my ear piercings wsince they initally healed, and I guess I was 10 or so when I got them. They don't give me any trouble...

Since I wear my earring all the time, even showering and such, I find my earring and holes tend to collect, well, goop. shampoo, conditioner, hair oil, that sort of thing. So, I pull out the earrings, clean them off well, and make sure my holes are clear.

I've always had to do it, when I wear earrings 24x7, from when I first had them, and I've had mine since I was 13. I probably don't *have* to do it, but it's just something I got in the habit of doing. Or maybe my holes are stretched larger than yours - I wore really big earring a lot in my younger days.
