Yay bras!

Okay, not really. I haven't yet found the bra worthy of a true yay. But I digress.

One of my tasks for last week's shopping trip was finding a new bra that I could buy 5 of and be set for bras. I *hate* bra shopping under the best of circumstances, and now, it's even more brutal. After pregnancy, nursing, gaining and losing 20-something pounds AFTER the pregnancy, I don't know what my boobs think they're doing down there. And you can measure all you want, but it NEVER ever translates into a correct bra size for me. But, my nursing bras have about worn out (and I'm tired of my bobs riding around on my belly button) and the ones I wore before still don't fit quite right, so off to the lingerie shop I went. (And no, not Vicki's. Vicki's cowers in fear when they see my chest coming.) Lady Grace. Home of the *gasp of horror* sensible bra.

After trying on 10 bras in three different sizes, I found the one that seemed most like a winner, and took it home with me. The ladies in the audience know that oftentimes, the one that seems to win in the store is often just as much of a sad pathetic loser as the rest you tried on once you take it home with you and give it the extended road test. Amazingly, this one seems to be passing muster! And best of all, it's kind of pretty AND it has matching underwear. I know, all you vicki's shoppers are saying "So, what's the big deal in that?" It's okay, I know you are. That NEVER happens when you have to buy sensible bras. Well, maybe one bra in 10 has matching undies, and maybe one in ten bras fit right, and you can figure out the odds there. Now, I just can't wait until I drop a couple more sizes and can start buying actual pretty bras.

It's probably sad that I'm this excited over such a little thing, eh?

Vickis wouldn't know a sensible bra if it smacked the whole company upside the head. That's the only downside to that company, they don't make anything for a more full figure. Hopefully there isn't a keyboard monitor on this computer and I won't get in trouble for not toeing the company line.

I've had good luck with Lane Bryant's bras, but YMMV.

I'm convinced that the whole burning of the bras thing in the 60's was not about feminism but COMFORT!! *L* I'm with you, I hate bra shopping. Here in Sweden it's even worse, if you are anything even remotely over a C cup you can forget about even being able to find a servicable bra much less anything attractive. I had to have my relatives buy me bras in the U.S. for my last birthday. The downside is that I'm stuck with whatever they buy and don't even get to consider the comfort factor.
