All through December, I put off bill paying because I was almost out of checks. Now, it's January, I *still* have no checks, and I have bills that are due right now. Anyone know any good "help yourself get organized" tips?

We were playing tonight, and she was running around me, holding onto my hand. She fell, and I didn't let her hand go fast enough, so she ended up face planting on the hardwood. She split both her top and bottom lips, there was blood everywhere (thank goodness I was wearing an old sweater) and she was so upset. By the time she went to bed both her lips were all swollen (I know, I wouldn't have thought those lips could get any bigger either). I felt awful. Thank goodness for Imagy's quick thinking about giving her an ice cube - I think getting to chew on the ice cube helped as much as its cooling properties.

So, I'm working on this wedding sampler for my friends Elaine and Brian, and it's making me insane!

Last night, I finally had a whole night of not having to frog and redo my stitches seventeen times, and I was finally feeling good about the project when I realized that the floss looked to be a different color in the section I had just finished. Which is decidedly weird, since, it's all from the same skein. I showed it to [livejournal.com profile] scirocco last night and [livejournal.com profile] lorac this evening, and they both saw it right away. As best Lorac and I could guess, it is simply catching the light differently when there's different amounts of the floss in one place (previous sections were one row of stitchers, the new is two). If that's the case, I'm not sure what I should do - if I should find (yet another) type of floss to use, or just suck it up.

I've got such a mental block about this pattern - I haven't even hit the truly difficult portions and I'm constantly messing it up. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm going to go crazy before it's done.
If this wasn't promised to someone incredibly special, it wouldn't stand a chance of getting finished this millennium.
